My name is Renate H. Sattler, nee.
Renate Tietjen.
I studied business administration, Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture as part of the “Applied Business Studies – China” program at Bremen University of Applied Sciences and graduated with a degree in business sinology.
Later, I studied at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA program at Northwestern University (Chicago, USA).

I lived and worked for 16 years as General Manager (GM) / Chief Representative of a German trading company in China and another five years as Chief Operation Officer (COO) in Singapore.

Volunteering

In addition to my professional challenges, I was:

    Chairwoman of the Board of the German Chamber of Foreign Trade Greater China in Beijing
  • Chairwoman of the Board of the German Chamber of Foreign Trade for South and Southwest China in Guangzhou
  • Founder and Chairwoman of the “German Business Round Table” in Guangzhou
  • President of the business association “Women in Business” in South China

In my capacity as a member of the AHK Board of Directors, I accompanied delegations including former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder in Guangzhou, South China, and the current German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Chongqing, West China.

China Interim Manager

Today I work as an interim manager and as a consultant for German companies working with China. As a China Interim Manager, I support my clients in the successful implementation of their projects in China and Europe. I have extensive knowledge of local markets, cultural nuances and legal frameworks. My tasks include the management of restructurings, the optimization of production processes, the management of joint ventures or the introduction of new business models. I act as a bridge-builder between European and Chinese partners in order to avoid misunderstandings and achieve strategic goals efficiently. With my experience, I ensure that projects are implemented on time and sustainably – always with a clear focus on the success of my clients.
